Physician's Statement:

The paradigm of Western medicine in the 21st century celebrates scientific evidence as both fundamental and comprehensive. While I recognize the value of the scientific method and developing an evidence based model. I believe a more powerful medical approach also recognizes the notion that healing comes about through a channeling of forces both knowable and mysterious. It is a co-creative process between the individual and spirit.

Evidence is limited in it's scope; what's been lost in recent decades is the importance of the collaboration between doctor and patient - human beings whose unique observations and complexities are the key to a healing partnership. While there are situations where standardized diagnosis and routine protocols are sufficient, having the time to thoroughly listen to patients, to their entire story, is always essential to successful treatment.

The mission of Asher Integrative Ear, Nose, and Throat is to provide patients with a hopeful, integrative, and thoughtful approach to their medical care. As a physician, I choose to balance science and spirituality; I am grateful that people entrust their care to me. As an organization, we aim to create an environment where everyone who encounters the practice feels respected, appreciated, supported, and valued. My ultimate goal is transformation and evolution...mine as well as yours... in the hope of discovering our fundamental interconnectedness.

Conditions best suited to Dr. Asher's approach:

Dr. Asher saved my life - well not my life exactly, but my nose! I had severe sinusitis, had lost my sense of taste and smell, had become ill from too many anti-biotics and steroids, was told that an iffy operation was my only hope - and then I met HIM. He is a superb doctor who talks, listens and, most important, observes and treats you partly through observation. Even though he claims to only be an ear, nose, and throat man, I suspect he can treat and cure anything. He is a real healer - and that is very rare.

Benjamin Asher is the quintessential otolaryngologist, in a class by himself. To be able to receive care from a person who is not only smart and well informed, but is also compassionate, kind, and firmly grounded in many paradigms of healing is a true blessing for patients. As a fellow ear-nose-and throat physician, I would seek his counsel if I, or a family member, was in need of ENT care.
